Elul is an auspicious time to move closer to and with G-d. Of course, we have a direct connection with Him all-year-round. Of course, we can ask for forgiveness at any moment – the sages make it clear that the Gates of Forgiveness are always open. The 9th of ELUL falls this year on the 29th of August
17th of Av falls this year on the 6th of September.
This marks a year since Israeli Elections started, with three rounds (and counting). The spies who slandered the Land, started to die on this day, 40 days after they sinned. This date might be connected to political dynamics regarding land appropriation, the (withdrawal from) annexation of Judah and Samaria etc.
The 24th of ELUL falls this year on the 13th of September
The 25th of ELUL falls this year on the 14th of September
On the 25th of ELUL, Nehemiah completed the repairing of Jerusalem's walls which took place over a 52-day period.

Son of man, describe the temple to HOUSE of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations.
