On the 27th of Kislev the cataclysmic flood ended after 40 days.

The Flood continued 40 days on the earth...
The word "Mabul" in Hebrew is not specifically a flood by water. It is a cataclysmic event that "reset" Hashem's world and though Hashem promised that there won't be a total destruction of the earth by water again, we know that there will be another reset during the "birthpangs of Mashiah" (Isaiah 54: 7-10), where a great shaking of the world is expected.
